Intensive Care Unit

This six-bed unit specializes in the care of the critically ill, using the absolute latest in technology. Nurses who staff the ICU receive specialized training for this assignment, and a team nursing approach is utilized for patient care in this unit.

Special services provided by this unit include: ECG continuous monitoring, electrical cardioversion, pulmonary artery catheter insertion and monitoring, arterial catheter insertion and monitoring, blood sampling from arterial and venous catheters, intubation, mechanical ventilation, thrombolytic medication administration, special medication infusions, post anesthesia recovery after hours, and monitoring of telemetry patients located in the Medical/Surgical Unit.
